Summer's Over

Best Picture Ever, two beauties. My Best Friend Jackie came and visited me from Louisiana. They just moved there over the summer. I am so happy for her because she is close to her parents now and closer to me. I love her kids!! I haven't seen her in over 3years. The kids have grown so much. Our kids played together when we both lived in Columbus, we met through a mutual friend and have been friends ever since. We have gone through life together the good the bad and the ugly she has been a true friend. Our kids get along great too, it was like no time had past.
Boys had to check out the Tesla's of course.
We have not seen Rob's parents since we have moved to TX. It was so nice to visit with my mother in law and Rob's Step Dad Wayne. I bet the kids looked so big to them! We hope they come back soon! We took them to The Ima Hogg Home and Garden (Yes that was her name) Absolutely beautiful mansion and garden. If you are in Houston this is a place to visit if you love gardens.
My baby, eating her favorite Ice-cream, they just opened a new Fro-Yo, bike riding distance from us
We had a lot of summer fun swimming, Hudson included. He loves to swim!!
One Thursday I took the kids to downtown Houston and we went to the Museum District. It was one of the best days of my life with my kids. Everything worked out so nice. We went to lunch a a fabulous place, menu above. We found parking and walked to about four museums, they are free in the afternoon. The kids went to the Health Museum which was by far their favorite because I paid a small fee for them to do lab experiments in a real laboratory. They included, DNA, blood types, E-coli, and Cells. All three kids loved this so much!!

Love this picture, it's her true smile!!
Jaden loved loved this!!!
We went to The Houston Museum Of Fine Art, we could have spent all day here. We saw real painting like Monet, and many more. We saw paintings from the 1600's. The art was like nothing I have ever saw. The boys loved this too, Lauren was a little bored but that is to be given it's not hand's on and more history and time periods.
We went to the Holocaust Museum, unreal and so sad! There is something really moving about actually seeing true propaganda, and hearing stories. We all left so sad
That same weekend we visited some historic houses in downtown. Houston has so much to offer and see.
We had countless Whataburger Meals, Mall trips and thrift store fun. The boys love vintage items, they both have an eye for antiques and retro stuff. Here they are loving the "new" record players.
Lauren's idea of shopping at Home Goods. ha ha, she even found her own special pillow.
Out shopping I ran into Lauren's 2nd grade teacher who is also my friend. Lauren got her again for 4th grade. We are so happy!! I love this lady. After we took this picture a customer in a store said you two are dressed exactly alike, and we are!!
Jaden wanted to do some fun things like try exotic fruits, guess what they were not great. Now I can see why these fruits don't sell to often, and they are super expensive. We love to try new adventures.
We had the best summer ever. I have a few more pics from our trip to Austin but this is about it for summer fun. These kids have grown this summer in every way. I am so proud of each of them!

Summer Fun

We had friends over from school right when summer started, always fun! My parents came for a visit and the best news ever. They decided they are moving from Myrtle Beach and they are moving to TX. They will not be super close but 4hrs away from us. We are all so happy, that is so much closer and we will be able to see them so much more.
Here is my mom!! Her favorite store, mine too!
Lauren Loves her grandpa, Drew too
We went and took a boat ride on Lake Conroe. Jaden looks thrilled!!
My pretty girl in summer clothes. I love her in bright colors.
Drew bought Lauren a Pop Vinyl for her birthday, and here she is eating her special birthday breakfast, pancakes!!
Drew and his dog! Love this picture of Drew
Fourth of July Parade and fireworks
more water fun!
Lauren met her friends at this cute little fun water park near our house

Hiding from the sun, Love TX sun but it can be intense.
Rob is such a good dad. We discussed making the kids do some projects this year. He came up with presentations and the kids did two and did very good. The first attempts by Lauren and Drew were not great and it was a important lesson to make them put in better effort and the second time they did so good!
Drew teaching us tennis
The Septic System, who knew...yuck
We did so much this summer, we went to this super cool place that has a huge room full of vintage video games. The boys loved it and I loved Mortal Kombat. I have memories of my cousin Mark and I playing this for hours. Loved the 80-90's!! What's old is cool again. Drew was impressed with my mad skills of Sub-Zero!
Part 2 and 3 coming!!
