Dreaming Up Plans...

I have a million ideas going through my head. Anyone who knows me knows I can't sit still or relax much. Being in a hotel for over 2 months has set me on the crazy train. Most days I go shopping or  I look at Pinterest till my eyes go dizzy thinking about ideas. I just wish I could pull out the paint and get creative this is torture for me. When my joy is doing the laundry you know that it is bad.  I don't have room to store anything so mostly I widow shop and take lots of pictures. I started taking some stuff to Rob's office which I just had to have. It never fails I find the best stuff when I have absolutely no room to store it. My trunk is full of odds and ends and I have already reserved something I found on Craigslist. Funny story... I have been checking out the Goodwill's since I love to find treasures and I love good deals. I found a amazing vintage drafting table. I called my sweet husband who said he would take it to work for me. So now I have a enormous drafting table in his works storage room. I am so excited to stain it and use it for painting and crafts.
I just love Pottery Barn every time I go I just love it. Such a great mix of classic styling mixed with unique found goods. I love their displays they are just so awesome. I want this paneling all over my house, would this look a little overdone?
If I had a house I would have bought this tv stand. I really liked it. I absolutely love Home Goods. So much great stuff and always low prices.
I love this vanity from Lowe's. Lauren's room has a bathroom off of it that shares with the game room. Right now there is a huge ugly laminate counter that takes up to much room. I think I am going to just get  single sink and rip out that long vanity. I have lots of blogging material with the new house.
Lauren wants new colors in her room. She told me she wants a "Sweet Frogs" room. This girl loves sweets. She wants her room to be a dessert room, ha ha. This is a shower curtain from Dillards but I am thinking about finding the material and making some curtains, it is so cute.
This is cute material too but has some orange in it which we are mostly doing light pastels of light mint green and pink. Love the leopard vines.
I love the colors of this fabric just not sure I want toile even though I like it.
I am so in love with a particular fabric that I will post about soon. I wish I was a better sewer and second I wish the fabric was not $50 a yard!! I may do some pillows and add it on some drop clothes. You know the famous drop cloth curtains?? I really like them.
A front runner for a new couch
I learned about this wonderful artist from Dixie Delight I love her blog and her decorating! So many ladies love designer purses I like them okay but I would rather buy this!! I love the colors
I am planning my new house colors. I am going coastal with southern charm. I love southern coastal style!!

I will have these doors, I have loved them for so long. My new house has double doors but I do not like the glass. I have been investigating replacing the inserts or just getting new doors. I am trying to stay on a budget so if I can do inserts I am going that route for sure. I have so many resources here.  I am going to go to the glass store this week to get a estimate. I am dreaming of these doors!!

To wrap it all up this is so me, ha ha!!

Things Are Coming Together

I love this saying so much. At times it feels He is far away and at times life makes no sense. You wonder why some thing don't work out but then the great part is you're glad it did not work out after some things are revealed. Life is a lot easier when you let go of control and put yourself in the passenger side and truly trust God. I struggle with this more often then I would like to admit. I have this ideal plan that I think sounds perfect but God's plans are so much greater then mine that I would miss so much if I had control. I was reminded of this so many times this week. I have meet some amazing ladies recently. I don't know if I would have meet them if it was up to my plans because it was all about perfect timing. It's been so encouraging and easy to meet friends here in TX. Some really good new is we are leaving the hotel in 3 weeks we finally found a house. It's so funny the house we are buying is one of the first houses we looked at when we came down for our house hunting trip. After looking at a million houses we decided this one had the most amenities that we wanted. It doesn't have everything but it has a lot we do like. It does need some work including a new kitchen but mostly it's cosmetic things so off to home improvement stores we go. I figured we were so happy with our old home when we made changes to our taste that we would do it again even thought it is a lot of work. We looked at so much but we really feel in love with the yard, pool and the neighborhood. If all goes well we will be on our way soon to having a home again.
My photo quality is awful on my phone but I took some pictures of my favorite store near where we live called Laurie's Home Furnishings in Tomball, TX. It is the most amazing store ever!! Just last week I went in and met Laurie herself. She is so amazingly talented and completely humble and fun!! I hope to pick her brain some more. What a extraordinary woman she was she had so much time just to talk to me about my family and life. She has traveled the world extensively to buy her furnishing that are in her store. I love her store for so many reasons but some of the reasons is her store is like a collection that tells a story. It is all unique and she has different price points that I think are very affordable.

I am going to bring my BFF camera back when I have time to truly capture all this beauty!!

Oh this was at Macy's I love this display. Every time I go to the mall I park by this entrance so I can look at this beautiful display. Soft blues, tans, gray, cream you get the idea

It's winter but the weather here is wonderful lately 70's and sunny. Here is the park around our new neighborhood and funny Drew saying he's wearing a Speedo. This kid is so funny he keeps me laughing. You can tell my kids are from up north they think it's summer when it's 70.
Things have been going well. Right when we felt like everything was falling apart for a while they were really falling into place. We are really happy and excited for our future in TX.

Beach Love

The Beach is my happy place. It brings peace to my soul with magic and contentment that are like no other. I could have a million things on my mind but when my eyes look at the waves and the breeze hits my face it takes me to another place. It awakens my soul to the awestruck wonder and awe of God and how he made our world so beautiful. How could this ocean be here for hundreds of thousands of years before time began with waves moving never ceasing. It is so giant and strong and engulfing but yet so peaceful and calming. It is reminiscent of our mighty God. When I look upon it I can't help but be amazed by the one who made it all.
Moments later I look at my children, and life just seems to slow down for a moment. I am blessed...

Thank you God for this day

A fun Day At The Beach

It's so nice to see Palm trees. The weather is cold here today but not as cold as most of the country. Most of my life I have been around snow for many months. It's been refreshing and I am not complaining. I do think snow looks so pretty when it is first falls and especially the really sparkly kind. We have had such a nice break with the kids being home and Rob took of the whole week of break too. We did a lot of fun things. On this day we went to the beach. It takes a little over a hour to get to the beach. It is not a blue water type of beach but still calming and beautiful.
We walked around a boardwalk and took the kids to a little aquarium in Kemah where you could touch and feed sting rays. They really enjoyed it and since it is winter and we went during the week they had the place to themselves.

Drew really enjoyed this, Lauren would not touch the sing rays.

We ate at Bubba Gump's Restaurant and as we left I saw a man drawing these funny Caricatures. I have always wanted to get this done. Now I have one, I love it!! This guy was so good, it is truly amazing to watch a artist and how fast he drew this. It looks just like them!!
