Lauren at preschool

My littlest one is growing up. These are from a couple weeks ago but they had a special moms day at her preschool. It was so exciting going to her special day and receiving the big hug I was greeted with when she saw me. It makes you gleam when your kids love it when you come to there school to help or for special parties. So sweet seeing how proud all the kids were of their mom's.
clapping along

I love her school the teachers are so good and caring. We just went to her end of year conference and they were so proud of Lauren and how much better she is doing adjusting. She has matured a lot in the last 6 months or so. They said that the boys love her and that they think she is really cool. Everyone likes her hair styles too, can't complain about that!! They said she is smart, I could have told you that (: I swear that kid is three steps ahead of me in her thinking she is a master planner on ways to get her way, lol. My little lawyer in training. Although she is a leader and determined she is also very sweet. She cares about her little friends and is a good sharer. She is young for her grade so we will see how it goes next year and then see if it is time for kindergarten the following year.

This would be her idea of fun!! We just need a little water and this would be right up her alley.

I love this little outfit. I love the shirt, my friend and fellow blogger made her some stuff last year. As you can see it is getting to small. It is so precious though. I love monogramed stuff.

We had tea and dressed up.

No words, to funny!

My little Lauren Grace, mommy loves you!!

$1 table

The table on the left I bought for $1 at a barn sale. As you can see it is beat up but for $1 I had an idea. The one on the right I also purchased for $6.
The top is leathery, this is a old piece of furniture. There are not to many options when you don't have a finish to work with. I love scrapbook paper so I picked out a design that I thought would work with the table to cover the top.
1. I sanded the table and then painted it using Mini Wax Gel stain in mahogany
2. I picked out scrap paper and pieced it to fit on the square on top. I used Modge Podge to stick it down and flattened out the air bubbles, then I covered it with two more coats of Modge Podge (love that stuff)
New Table!!

It is hard to see the top but it is french words I believe.

Fun!!

The Ugliest Lamp in the world..For real

See I told you, no joke (: I saw this lamp at Goodwill in her pink mauve big bad self. Someone was crafty here many years ago, or was it many years ago? I always wanted one of these lamps that you could put stuff in. For $1.99 it was worth a try. So I proudly carried out the ugliest lamp in the world. I took it all apart and that was a little tricky but I was able to get it in pieces.

My favorite thing of course shells since I am a shellaholic. I just love the timeless elegance and natural beauty of them. I have a stash in the basement so I brought them up.

I had this old can of spray paint that is a nice dark bronze color. I first sanded the old fake brass finish so that it would stick and did a few coats.
TRASH TO TREASURE HERE I COME

I bought a $10 shade and now I am a proud owner of a new lamp. I love these sort of projects. The ones that pop in your head with a vision and everything just flows. I also did a few other things in the last day. I love to kill myself and tackle everything at once. Between getting ready for the yard sale I ran into these recreations. Since I just can't let anything sit when my brain is flowing right I dove right in. Sometimes my creativity goes for a while but I had it this week. More to come soon..

Spring Flowers and yard sales

Good Morning!

These are not from my yard, but I wish they were (: I love peonies!! I could surround my house with these and make fence. I love that hot pink color!!

Another beauty to me are Hydrangeas. I planted one in the backyard but I don't know how it will do. It looks kind of wilted right now. I think we have had to much rain. Only in Ohio do you turn the air on because it is almost 90 degrees to turn the heat on 3 days later because it is 50degrees. When summer finally gets here it is beautiful because it is so green.

I love this

I haven't been able to blog much lately do to a lot going on at once. The boys are in the full swing of baseball now. That means I am on Lauren duty at the ball field for many hours. I can say that she is much better this year but she decided the other day she wanted to take a walk after I told her not this second. I look over and my track star was about a half mile away in less then 2 minutes hiking toward the creek. She is maturing and meting new friends and I love watching her think she is a big kid now. So this year is going much better so far. This week our neighborhood is having our community yard sale so I have been digging through our house getting rid of stuff we don't need or use anymore. Less is more!! There is so much truth to that. I love to shop but it makes me sad how much stuff I thought we needed only to see it go to the yard sale for $1. Most of it is kids stuff which there is no explanation. Then there is my favorite daughter who at 3yrs old is as tall as kindergartner or taller.

Back to sorting.....If I don't come back you'll know I got lost in the sea of mess in the basement.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! This is such a special day for so many reasons. I feel blessed to have my kids who bring me joy that is like no other.

Dear Jaden, Drew and Lauren,

Today is Mother's Day, and I woke up to three kids greeting me at my bed saying "Happy Mother's Day." I loved each of your smiles and hugs!! We had a great lunch out and I enjoyed all my cards and gifts. I especially loved the hand written notes boys. It is so neat to read your heart felt thoughs. When I look at each one of you my heart swells with pride. I am so proud of each one of you for different reasons. I love you all the same but in different ways. Your all my favorite! Jaden, you make me laugh and your a friend to me. Your wise and witty and very inquisitive. You teach me so much about the world and God's love. You have a spirit that is much older then your years. Drew, you make me laugh too. You are very laid back, funny and likable. You are the life of the party your my little GQ. Today when you were playing baseball with daddy you hit the ball so well I think you have your dad's eye. Lauren, you are my firecracker. You keep my life busy and never dull. Your a sweetie that has a mind of her own. It will help you as you get older. You are going to be a strong woman that can change the world. You are a reminder of God's love to me when I look at your sweet face and see your smile, you are precious!!

Each day bring new joys, challenges and stages. I don't regret any of them knowing that I am becoming the woman God wants me to be. I am humbled by how He is using my precious children to make me love more like Him. My greatest joy in life has been raising and loving each one of you!! I am so excited to see the plan God has in store for you. Each day as I pray over you and with you I pray for your protection. Even though in this life you will have pain and disappointments I pray that you are people of great character. In life their will be many Mt top experiences but in the valley is where you will grow. With God's hand in your life you will have a life with meaning and joy. I hope you all know how special you make my life just by being you!

Love you to the moon and back,

Mommy

My blog is my diary...this year I printed the last 3yrs I have been blogging into books. These memories are so near to my heart. Jaden had his spring musical a couple weeks ago. He did such a great job. They sang songs from musicals and movies. It was very entertaining and the kids did a great job.

There he is! There were lots of kids and it was hard to find him at first but he spotted us too.

My little tennis star. I love the poises she did for me.

To all the moms reading this near and far Happy Mother's Day. The toughest most rewarding job out there. I have been blessed to have a mother who is not only a great mom but also my best friend. To my other close friends, I could not make it without you. So many times we have laughed, cried and have loved each others kids, thank you!!!

Lot's of Rain

Hello friends....Life has been busy around here. Baseball is in full swing, and the end of school year activities are near. Last week we were blessed by this beautiful rainbow in our backyard. It was a full rainbow that was so big my camera was not wide enough to capture it. It only lasted about 5 min and I am glad I looked out the window when I saw rainbow sky. You know that kind of sky that only rainbows come from where it is really dark but then really sunny at the same time? The kids loved it!! Rainbow's always make me think of God's promises. On a positive note Jaden's rash is getting better so thank you for praying. I am continuing supplements and seeing a difference. I feel much better about it. Last week we also found out Jaden is going to enrichment for reading and we are so proud of him. He is reading 3 books a week on his own. He is a walking bundle of knowledge, I am amazed by his scientific knowledge.

I love the rainbow but the rain has been so plentiful this year I think most of us have had enough. I feel tired today from another rainy day. The green is beautiful though.
you can see a double next to it even, wow!! Best rainbow I have ever seen to bad it faded really quick. Rob was coming home from the store and he said it looked like it was right over our house.

Drew is so darn cute, he loves to draw. His teacher left about 6 weeks ago because she had a baby. He has a sub now that he loves just as much. He made this by himself.

All this rain we have gotten creative. A movie in a tent.

I remember building tents when I was their age thanks to modern conveniences now they have cute butterfly tents. I am amazed at all the neat toys, games, and technology they have for kids. I guess this makes me seem old.

To sunny days to come...
