Christmas at our house

What a great time we had here. Hope you all had a nice Christmas as well. My parents came from PA and spent a couple days with us and it was so nice to have them on Christmas morning. Rob has been on vacation this week so we have been having some nice family time that we love. It is so nice to have him home to help with the kids, and play with them. I know they love daddy so much. I get a little more time to myself too and help. Needless to say I love Christmas time.
Every year I say this but Christmas gets better every year. The kids just have so much joy. I usually don't go crazy but it is so easy to do having little ones at home. To see the happiness new toys brings melts my heart.
Here are my 3 blessings before bed on Christmas Eve. A note for Santa and some carrots for reindeer.

Nice having my dad take a family picture for us.
Coming down the stairs.
Daddy and Lauren. This baby alive is so cute, it looks like Lauren. It eats banana and drinks juice and talks to you. I told Rob we are not buying any babies that wear diapers because apparently Baby Alive makes some babies that really need diaper changes. I have had enough diapers in the last 8 years! Don't forget my adorable dog Champ too!!

They are thanking each other for each others gifts to each other.
Jaden and his new radio. He is really growing up. I gave him my old Ipod. He thinks he is really cool now. He really does like it because he listens to Toby Mac all the time and goes to sleep with it on.
I made my mom a chalkboard out of a old picture and wrote the Top 10 Reasons why we love Nana and Grandpa. She really liked it and is not erasing it she says.
Have you seen this hilarious commercial for the Shake Weight. Well my cousin Mark got one and said it worked. So I got Rob one since it is hard to get to the Gym with 3 kids, and a busy job. He has been doing really well running at home in the evening, and trying to eat really healthy. It is so hard to fit fitness into everyday life but important. We do pretty good with eating and do enjoy some cookies and coke but most of what we eat is very healthy. Lauren and Drew are super picky so that does not help. Anyway the weight is really hard and it does work.
My mom and Drew with Mario and Sonic Olympics
This is so adorable!! She loves Little Mermaid. Ever since Disney, she has been into Ariel. I am glad because before this it has mostly been Cars, Spider man, Sponge Bob, Football. She does love her cheer leading outfit but now she has another favorite.

Champ has been a really good boy the last couple months. He loves to be with us. He didn't know what to think about Christmas.
Jaden's favorite toy his million piece Lego set that he put together in a few hours. Kid amazes me with his building skills. He loves instructions and building.
The after
These were from Christmas Eve, I thought they were cute.

Lauren and Nana, The kids love their Nana. She treats them so special. So glad they could be with us this Christmas. God has been so good to us. What a great Christmas we had.

Eating ice cream and ready for santa

Lauren has been on this ice cream kick. She wants it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I tell her no she asks if she can have it as a treat after dinner. I told her it is a special treat once in a while. She got a little spoiled because she had some twice in just a couple days. So now she asks everyday regardless if she just had some earlier that day or not. Smart girl, can't say I can blame her who doesn't like ice cream.
Drew enjoying some too
Darn cute and hard to say no. Could you say no to this face?
We are ready for Santa. Santa is fun at our house but we don't really go overboard. I know this is a hot debate with a lot of christian families. When my Jaden asked if Santa was real a few years ago we told him the truth. We told him not to ruin if for Drew though and it was just something fun for little kids. Then recently Drew asked and we told him the same. He didn't seem disappointed at all. The whole idea of seeing Santa at three malls in one day, on the corner and ringing a bell must have told him a clue. We told him to make it fun for Lauren and of course it works for bad behaviour at times, lol. I don't think Santa is a bad thing and it is fun for little kids. It is when you start making it all about him that is when I think it becomes a problem. So Lauren will be waiting for Santa on Christmas morning. How did you all deal with this topic out in blog land?
I decided to add spotlights to my house. I really like it, I still need to work on it to get the best lighting effect but it is freezing outside.
I hope this rabbit doesn't fall apart after this cold weather we have been having. The thing weighs about 70 pounds, hopefully it will stay nice through the weather.
I put this snowman in a big pot because for the past few years he always falls over or blows away in the wind. This seemed to work this year.
I love topiaries!!
I found this cute little flag at Lowe's.
I have a few more things to finish up but we are ready here. Hope you all have a Blessed Christmas!

Lauren's first performance

Here she is!!
Lauren had her first Christmas musical performance at her preschool this week.
She did great. She walked out holding her favorite teacher Miss Cindy's hand with a sweet smile on her face. As she walked out she was looking all around for us. She made sure she waved at each one of us. Then she waved most of the show.
Here she is jumping on stage, that does not surprise me. She loves to jump!!
This little guy behind her kept making a ton of pig noises and was acting wild. I am sure the teachers didn't plan on putting the most spirited kids right next to each other, lol. She turned around and looked at him and then looked at the audience and put her hands up like "what is he doing" It was really cute!
This is two classes combined, the program lasted only about 10 min. It was precious though. Lauren looks so cute not that I am partial or anything.

Hope you enjoyed seeing Lauren Lu Lu Bell! She is a entertaining little lady. She has a lot of energy and is super silly. She defiantly has a flair for the dramatic. We call her little mama at home sometimes. She likes to boss the boys around and tell them like it is. Oh my! Girls are some work now. Teenage years should be fun!

11 days to go!

I have had a lot of joy lately. Although Christmas is 11 days away and I have a ton of stuff to do I don't really feel stressed. I figure it will all get done. I have really just enjoyed the kids, our home and having friends over. I think that is the way it is supposed to be (: My parents are coming from PA for Christmas, can't wait. Lauren has a performance tomorrow at her school, it will be the first time that she will be on stage. She is a little Diva princess. I never really liked the word Diva but it seems to fit a little girl who is sweet and pretty but demanding and dramatic. It has been super cold here like it has been many places. The kids love the snow but they only last about ten minutes outside. Makes me thankful for a warm house!!
I love these brown and gold ornaments. I bought a whole bunch of these things on clearance last year. I love the big ball ornaments. So many neat combinations of tree choices, and decorating these days. I have enjoyed looking at some of my friends trees. All different and neat. Unique combinations are so beautiful.
I have this little shelf in my house, two of them actually. I don't really like it but it works for my nativity perfect each year. This was a Christmas gift from my parents one year, very special.
We had our Life group (used to be called Sunday school class) from church at our house a couple weeks ago. It was really fun. I love our small group. We are really growing as a group and encourage each other through life!! The woman had a ornament exchange and the guys had a gag gift exchange. Of course the man gifts were the best. We were all dying laughing. Some examples of the gifts-A picture with Golden Retrievers, duck tape, half a bottle of Stetson, huge wrench, keyboard, food tray, and there was more..
I actually would like to do this tradition when our kids are grown up, it created so much laughter and memories. Here is Jim below. He got this awful two-tiered chip and dip tray. I am sure that will make a come back next year.

Rob's gift was actually not bad. A Woody Hayes doll, the kids loved it. The person who gave it doesn't like Ohio State so to him it was not a gift he wanted. We gladly took it!! Although OSU is playing AR in a few weeks. We have some loyalty to AR as well. Lauren was born in AR and we have lots of friends there, hard to root against friends (:
My friend Sarah and her son
Mindy one of my sweetest friends who moved here not to long ago. Some people you just instantly click with and she is one of them. Sweet southern girl that is so kind.
These are some of the most special people I have ever met. This is Albert and Mary Louise. They recently started attending our church and come to our small group. The age thing does not bother them a bit and they have become mentors to so many of us. They are so giving and extraordinary. A book could be written about their lives, they are Oprah show material. They have adopted children, raised a blended family, fostered kids. She was a school teacher, he owned a business for years. They are still helping others and it is amazing to see how God is using them. They love our kids too! So special for Lauren to have them!!
Back to reality in our home!! My kids crack me up. Never a dull moment.
Drew has been taking a lot of pictures, he is really good. Here is Lauren and me. She is really growing up and talking so much.
Jaden went to the Nutcracker last week with his class in downtown Columbus. I really love his teacher this year. He is doing so well and I am so proud of him. Jaden is a leader and is just as happy being by himself as he is playing with others. He is really into math and Legos more then ever. I don't know how kids have gotten so smart all of a sudden. In school I don't remember doing half the stuff his class does. He is adding large number in his head and last night was doing multiplication facts in his head up to the X 7 family?? I have never done multiplication with him? He defiantly gets that from his daddy. Jaden is reading so well and his writing is getting better all the time. I have a lot to owe to his teacher this year, they are very similar so it works well.
Hope everyone is doing well! Enjoy each moment and don't be stressed. This has been one of the best seasons ever for me. My house may not be perfect, and everything might not be bought and wrapped but I feel good. Love from my family is the best thing I could have.
