My favorite movie house of all time...Home Alone

The kids were watching this the other day and I have to say I just watch it to look at the house. I love the movie too, but That House!!! I know it has some pretty flowery wallpaper and is covered with burgundy and hunter green but I love it. I love the way the house feels outdated and all. I watch it and try and imagine how I would decorate it. I was looking on Google at a few pictures of the house and came across some interesting information. The house was redecorated for the movie and some of it was filmed in a Gym. http://afb.com/homealone/ Check it out. I love this style home, I think it called a Georgian Colonial I could be wrong. What is your favorite movie house?
Here it is in the summer, it is in Chicago! Love it!! This is one for the dream book!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving friends and family. We are going up to Lima, Ohio to Rob's moms house tomorrow. It will be nice to see cousins and Nana and Grandpa. Looking forward to a nice meal. So many things to be thankful for. I am still amazed how God provides for all our needs. More then we deserve he is Awesome. I am thankful for my loving family God's greatest gift to me. May you all have a blessed day.
Here are some picture from last week of the kids playing in the leaves. What beautiful weather we have had here in Ohio. I love this picture of my boys!!

The house is decked out inside and outside except the back yard. I think this will be one of the best Christmas's ever. The kids are really into everything Christmas. Lauren loves the lights, she says "Look mom lights, cool" Jaden wanted the tree up early this year and Drew has every Star Wars toy circled in ever circular and a whole list of stuff he thinks he is getting (he he)

Life boils down to two questions?

Should I get a dog?

Or Should I have children?

Thought I would make you laugh this Monday!! Both are fabulous by the way but both can be a challenge at times..(lol)

New Moon, was awesome.

First off the movie was wonderful. It followed the book and was very exciting. I think men would even like it. The movie was packed. We had to wait in a line outside of the door to get in the movie. There were several playing at the same time and I think they were all sold out. We sat around a bunch of teenagers and they were really well behaved. I think they were so captivated by the movie they couldn't talk. There were plenty of moms and some men there so we weren't alone. Edward was wonderful but I didn't like what happened in book two with his personality so Jacob was the star. The love triangle was very believable and I was almost torn. I have always love Edward but Jacob, well you will just have to see it and when I say see it you will know what I mean (lol) he is something special. Okay enough. Have a great weekend and go see it.
Go Bucks, had to add that they play Michigan today!!!

Can't wait to see this tonight!! I just love the love story so much!! I love the characters can you say Edward!! The perfect man!! (lol) Jacob is pretty good looking in this movie, what is he 17 (he he) I'm sure my friends and I will be watching this along with a bunch of teenage girls. I really do love it and can't wait to see all of them as they come out.
So to all of "Those Twilight People" enjoy!!

Just hanging around

I took these at the real working farm by our house. It is fun to see how a farm was run in the 1890's. It is open almost everyday to go see at one of our metro parks. The kids love it. I feel like I have been a bad blogging friend lately. I have been getting my Christmas stuff out and have been getting caught up on projects around the house. The kids have really enjoyed fall this year, it has been so warm.

Lauren is talking so much lately. Me do it!! That is her favorite sentence. She is very independent that is for sure. I don't think she is the most strong willed child but I would say defiantly spirited. She know what she wants. If that means climbing the counters to get her movie, or drawing on the wall because she is feeling creative she will do it. Having a girl is defiantly fun but like most woman she knows what she wants. She is also into cleaning up (although she loves making messes) Yesterday she got a paper towel out and was picking up dog poop apparently Champ just made. I turn around she is cleaning it up and saying "Bad dog Champ" To funny. She really is talking a ton and seems very interested in knowing what everything is. Her other favorite thing to say is "What's That" and "Can I see" Or when we walk by candles "I want to smell" So cute. Getting a little easier. I think we hit the peak in the terrible twos about 2months ago, seems to be mellowing or staying steady at least.

Ever wonder what your decorating style is?

Take this fun visual test. I always wonder what my decorating style is. I like a lot of different styles but seem to pretty much go with the same look. I can appreciate a beautiful shabby chic cottage style beach house. I would actually love to have that look but not sure if I want it for my everyday house. I also love the chandelier french chic look but not sure if that is practical for my family with kids. This little style test is really fun because it shows pictures. Unlike the tests that ask if you like this color or that color. That is so hard because I love black, silver, hot pink and turquoise but not really for my house colors..You know what I mean. This one shows all kinds of style and pictures. The pictures change and you can do the test a couple times. It said that my primary style was Traditional Country and Traditional. It had this picture on top as my style and I would have to say I love both of these pictures. I love french chandeliers and garden decor too so maybe all of that mixed up I guess that would make Ballard Designs my favorite unaffordable store.
Take the quiz and let me know your style.

Mr. Champ

Mr. Champ here. Mommy says I am a good boy most of the time. She really likes that I vacuum the floor for her in the kitchen. I love my brothers and sister. Even though the littlest one likes to pick me up by the tail. Mommy is really proud that I am finally using the restroom outside, although I like to sneak when she least suspects it a little gift at times. I am neutered now and mom said that would help me from running off. Sometimes I like to stay in the yard and play with my family and other times I like to play a game called You Can't Catch Me. I have great fun but mom is not so happy, I have not figured it out. I think I see my ball, I love to play ball. Just wanted to say hi to all you animal lovers. I think I am handsome and I thought this picture was quite distinguished of me.

Glue Gun Pillows

Here is the ottoman with my chair.
Like the toile pillow...I have no secrets. This was so easy. I have shown this in the past but it is so fun and easy to use a glue gun on pillows.
Close up view, it looks pretty good.
Here is the before. It was a very nice pillow but a little outdated. I got it a antique mall and thought the quality was really good. It is has down feathers inside and had nice fringe. While I was in my craft area as I was cleaning I found some left over fabric. So I just glued it on with my hot glue gun. You just cut the fabric to fit make a folded seem and glue away at all the edges ( you don't have to do the middle). Now it is not going to stay put forever probably but for a couple years it is a good easy change. You can even rip them off if you want to change the fabric. You can get ugly nice pillows anywhere. At yard sales you might find some really ugly printed pillows but the fringe is nice or it is a good quality pillow. Just get out your best friend the glue gun and tada!!

Happy Birthday Rob!!

Just wanted to wish my wonderful husband a Happy Birthday. You are a amazing man, father and husband. Thank you for being so unselfish to give us such a good life. You wake up everyday not complaining to provide for us. You come home at night after a long day and your ready to help me and the kids. You are Godly man and treat me with respect and love at all times. Your more then I ever asked God for or deserve.
Love you!

On a side note, I set Rob up on a prank Call. We have country radio station in Columbus that makes calls on or around your birthday it is called the Birthday Bust. Rob had a issue with his car and I set him up for a good laugh. Rob is so calm he didn't get to mad. I will post the podcast on here for you all to hear it. It won't be on till next Thursday though. There are tons of them so on a gloomy day you can listen to past calls and laugh your butt off. Here are some examples.

Would you walk right by this? Ottoman re-do

I did this thing about 2 months ago but wanted to show you all. Now it is not perfect by any means but I think it turned out cute. I was at my favorite Goodwill junking when I came across this ottoman. I have been wanting one a while, so when I found this 90's ottoman for $2 I jumped on it.. Well my kids did anyway. I thought I could re-do it somehow. I have no idea how to reupholster but thought I would give the handy dandy hot glue gun and my so so not great sewing to it.
I wanted to do two different fabrics after I saw this really cute hunting toile print. I ordered it off ebay and it only came in width with the pattern across so I had to cut it in stripes. I was a little worried but it turned out okay. The brown fabric was found at Hobby Lobby.
I decided to sew elastic round to make a cover for it. I thought it would grip the ottoman like a glove and then if I needed to wash it I could. With the kids, I knew this was a must for something like this. So I did some really crazy measuring and guessing and just jumped in and did it. Listen ladies some of the best stuff comes out when you just do it and stop thinking about what about this and will this look okay. Just go with your gut or creative instinct and sees what happens.
The cover is done.
Still has the 90's plaid ( I think we had this print in our house growing up, mom did we?)
My favorite friend...I cut pieces and edged them up so they would go with the picture of the dogs and just hot glued it on. I tucked the edges down and made a nice seem. Very easy, fast and worked.
I think it turned out cute.. This is my purse camera and project camera so not the best pictures, I will take a big picture of this later with the chair I put it with with my big daddy camera..
