This is how I feel lately!!

Thanks everyone for prayers. Drew has what we believe it the roto virus. I talked to his Dr. last night and she said if he did not pee within 2hrs to take him to Children's E.R for a I.V. He woke up and did pee and then wanted Cheerios. He kept it down and seems better today although we are still dealing with the bathroom issue. His energy is low but I think he is feeling better.
This is our fish Goldie. She is a remarkable fish. She greats us every time we go to the sink where she is located. It is amazing that this little fish with a period size brain is so sweet and seems to know us. She even splashes and gets excited to see us.. I'm really pathetic when I'm talking about my fish...better then poop right. Lately I feel like poor Goldie stuck in a bowl doing the same thing over and over. Cleaning, not leaving the house and going in circles. This is getting depressing. Hopefully in the next day or two the R household will be back to normal. Hope you all have a great weekend. I have some fun projects planned to get done as soon as I get caught up. Love,
Katie <><

My family is sick, and prayer requests.

Hey friends,
Sunday is when the fun began. Jaden woke up acting weird and wanted to stay in bed. If you know my son you know that is weird. So I stayed home with him and Lauren. Rob took Drew to church with him. I get a call around 11:00 from Rob informing me that Drew threw up all over himself and him. Apparently Drew was acting completely normal and they were sitting together in between services and just talking and all of a sudden he just puked.. Rob grabbed him and then ran to the bathroom and then more and more came. They came home covered. Throughout the day Jaden got sicker then starting throwing up. Drew was throwing up at the same time and had other bathroom issues. I was up almost all night on sunday. Yesterday Jaden was much better and Drew still sick. Lauren was having a few issues and was not herself either. Today Jaden went to school, Drew is still really sick and now Rob woke up sick. I feel like crying. You know those times when you have been taking care of everyone and handling all your day to day stuff and then your husband gets sick too... Please pray that I don't get it and my family feels better. I cleaned the whole house and lysoled everything. I did listen to a sermon on my ipod by Mark Driscoll for those of you who have never heard of him look it up on Itunes and download Mars Hill Seattle. Not Mars Hill Rob Bell, I'm not into him but I love Mars Hill Seattle they are not affiliated. Mark was talking about how these feel good pastors who tell you your going to be rich or you can fight sickness or stay positive and happy all the time is so unbiblical. I have to agree. There are times when God puts you through these storms some big and some small and you have to praise Him. It is not always easy that is for sure but your not always going to be dancing around thinking that I'm so happy. You can see later in life God uses these to mold you. He related it to Gold how you have to keep heating it to get out the imperfections. God puts us through hard stuff so he can let us grow deeper with Him. He molds us to become more like Him. I find it interesting that so many churches are afraid to talk about sin or the bad stuff that can and still happens to christians. That is why Jesus had to die for us since we all suck..and we live in a cursed world. It is hard to say but it is that brokeness that you feel that makes you realize what Jesus has done for all of us. That without him no matter what we go through that we could not make it without Him and He is there for you. I know that what I'm going through is nothing, I often think about those who don't have faith in God and when tragedy happens how they make it or go on. Even everyday life problems and marriage issues and money problems. My heart is so heavy for our dear friends Tiffany and Kevin and their son Brayden. I talked about this a few weeks ago. They just found out recently that Brayden has Hodgkin's lymphoma. They are wonderful christian people who showed us love when we needed friendships when we first moved to AR a few years ago. I know that God is with them and he has a plan. I know that He will guide them and love them. Please pray for Brayden as he has to have treatments quite often be with his parents and little brother as they fight this battle. My precious sons pray each day two-three times for Brayden. My greatest desire is for everyone to Know God and feel His love during our Good times and bad times.

Projects!! Little Cabinet, wreaths, oh my!

My pictures are out of order see below (: The finished little cabinet.
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. Yesterday the boys had a birthday party, and we stopped by the Scott's antique show in Columbus. It was nice but not nearly as much stuff as in the fall when we went. My kids are going to be pros at junking!! I was able to acquire this awesome glass cabinet. I will post pictures of it soon, it needs a whole new look but I love it. I also got another birdcage, I know crazy. This one is a neat greenish color, only $6. I have a few projects below from a few days ago I got done while Lauren was napping. I used to be a florist along time ago and still enjoy making arrangements and wreaths. I'm hoping some day to have a little shop with all kinds of garden decor, wrought iron, cottage stuff and french antiques. One can dream, right? One day when my kids are grown and I will be lost with them not needing me as much ): Anyway let me know what you think. The one wreath I made for my fire place and the other I made for my front door in the next month or so. It is cold again here so I don't want to take any chances and have everything blow away and freeze. This little cabinet was so cute, you can sit it on a table or hang on the wall. It was only $6 at Hobby Lobby. I was not fond of the mirror so I changed it out, what do you think? You can see it above in the top picture sorry for the out of order.
My inside wreath

front door. I will have more later.
Love,

New little things around the house.

Cute little bunnies.
I'm not big on the picture, it is cute but I'm not huge on artwork. I love the frame though it is a antique. So cool! I got it for $12 only! It is so cool, so I think I'm going to try a old world rabbit print. I'm looking for one any ideas?
I love this another birdcage, just what I need with all the birds I have you know. $14 pretty cute, I'm going to try and put a glass knob on the side for the drawer pull. I just went to Hobby Lobby today they have 80% off the clearance!! Some of the stuff needs to be redone or spray painted but for the prices. I got a pillow to recover, a little cabinet that I have to redo. I also got a few things for spring to make some wreaths. Can't wait for spring...

Party, Basketball, Chuck E Cheese.

We had a lot of fun with my parents this last weekend. My mom was able to go to Jaden's Valentines party at school, see the resemblance?

Then Sat Jaden had a Upward Basketball game. Rob is helping coach so it is fun to watch my boys out there together. Rob is so patient and sweet with all the kids.
Lauren loved the cheerleaders and was doing somersault's on the stage.
So cute, Nana got her the matching Gymboree shirt to match her zebra pants. She of course has a trademark Lauren flower headband on.
The cheering fans for Jaden.
We then went on over to Chuck E Cheese. Lauren really liked Chucky and about ran people over to go talk to him. Or in her talk say a whole bunch of words and point at things as she says them. We never know what she is talking about.
She loves balls, I think this girl is going to be basketball player or a tennis player, golf. That is her favorite toy. She has gotten so tall and lean. She is super muscler and solid though. Rob wants her to play tennis we will see.
We were thinking Disney this year but starting to question it after she hated all the rides!! She really did not like them at all. I barely got any pictures of the boys, they act so much bigger now and play their own games and don't need my help. I have some more group pictures of the family but I wanted to edit them. IF anyone has any tips for me please let me know. I just got Photo shop Elements not the full version. I'm really intimidated by all of it since I have not edited much. I also took back the Mac and got a reagular Windows Toshiba laptop. It works fine no problems but I need to transfer everything on this computer on over and get all my photo stuff figured out. More later, I know your all at the edge of your seats. (ha ha) I appreciate all your kind words, friendship and notes. You all in blogland make it so fun! I love all of you!!

Wii fun.

Anyone else have fun making profiles on the Wii? The first one is my dad, then Drew, Jaden, Me, Rob, My mom, and Lauren. We had so much fun with my parents. I took tons of pictures... I miss them so much with them being all the way in New Mexico.. The only good thing with not having parents close is that Rob and I have had to really depend on one another. We are best friends and have to really work and help each other. I think it has made us really close as a couple. We respect each other so much and know we have to work together to make our family work. It is really hard not having your mom close though. There are those mommy break down moments that I have so often that I could really use her help and support. We talk all the time so that really helps and thank God for modern technology and pictures. My mom is the sweetest woman you will ever meet. She would take her jacket off and give you her purse if you said you liked it. Mom, I miss you and dad all the time.. Thanks for coming to see us.

New mirror and and a few other things.

This is a mirror I found at a antique mall for $8. It was very gold so I chaged it to white. I really like it. It was simple, just paint.

Hi everyone!
I love this birdcage, it is actually for candles and is just decorative. There is a store in town called Feather Your Nest. I just love it, mostly painted antiques black and white ,shabby stuff, garden stuff, candles, and vera bradley. It is the kind of store I wish I owned. I found it there, and loved it.
Just some star fish, I really like a little bit of the outdoors brought in. Hope your all having a great Thursday. My parents are in town from New Mexico so we will be having a lot of fun with them this weekend.

Drew's class trip to the vet.

Drew and his class had a field trip to the local veterinarian's office. They did a really nice tour for the kids. They had two vet cats walking around and this delightful golden retriever.
This is Drew and his best buddy Justin.

Miss Lauren never misses her photo shoot opportunities. She loved all the doggies.
The whole group, so cute.
I'm so thankful I can be at all my kids events, it is a blessing.

Wii and a new look

We got the Wii and we are having so much fun. This thing is fun!! So far Jaden is awesome at the thing. He went like 8 rounds in the boxing, kicked all of our butts at the bowling. Rob is great at the baseball go figure and the golf. Drew is good too, he likes the boxing. Last night, I did the boxing for 45 min straight. I kept winning which was great but now my arms feel like they are going to fall off. Rob took over and then took a Knock Out. What a great excersise and it is fun.

Hope you all like my new look, I will have a post to thank my wonderful blog designer, this stuff is way over my head. I also have a photography blog in the works, I can't wait.

Hope you all are having a wonderful day!! Don't forget American Idol is on tonight!!

Winter Jam Pics-Toby Mac

What a wonderful night we had last sat. Rob and I just took Jaden and made it a special day for him. I think that is so important with kids to have that one on one time. It isn't always easy to do having two other kids but it is something we hope he will remember. He got all dressed up for the concert and as you can see looks adorable in his Toby Mac look. He gave me his cool face here.
please excuse this horrible quality. I had the brightest natural light you have ever seen behind the guys. It is not pretty but a cute picture non the less.
We took Jaden to Johnny Rockets. We were hoping for the table singing they but they didn't do it, oh well he liked it.
bad lighting again but cute.
Toby Mac was the last to perform, the concert was really long and Jaden did great and loved it. This was the most energetic performance I have ever seen. Toby Mac is getting older but you couldn't tell. He and the Diverse City band were flying and jumping all over the stage. It was really good. He even crowed surfed at the end.

Jaden's favorite song.
This was actually the end, when they came back out to sing Jesus Freak. It was awesome.. Tons of flying confetti everywhere. We had good seats but we weren't super close but could see great. There were 17,000 there that showed up, tickets were only $10 a person. For a concert like this they should have been $50. 3,000 people made a commitment to the Lord. It was phenomenal. I love what these artists do and how they share God's love. The had the most awesome testimonies and prayer time.
I hate how my pictures are small on here, I wish I could get them bigger on my blog, I have a lot to learn but you can hit any picture and they get bigger if you don't already know that.

Francesca Battistelli
Barlow Girl, they were really good. These girls are the real deal they were excellent.
Brandon Heath, singing Give Me Your Eyes. What great words, he even danced some it was good.
Just wanted to share our fun time and encourage you all to go to Winter Jam this year or next.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Old red chair, concert, and prayers..

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. We had a blast sat night. We went to Winter Jam http://www.hearitfirst.com/jamtour/
It was awesome, I know they are moving down south on the tour this week. So if your in these areas (which many of my friends and blogging friends are) coming up check it out. You do have to wait outside for a while but I'm sure it is a lot warmer down there (: I will have more on this later. I took a ton of pictures. It was as they Say "Off The Hook"
This chair was a antique store find. The booth was half off so the chair was only $15. It is really old but sturdy so I figured I could do something with it. I needed a chair for my little black desk in my sitting area so I thought this would work for now. It is the coolest color red, I love black and the black would probably match my black desk better but I love this red. It is the kind that is stained in the wood and very hard to duplicate now.
I took out the seat, these projects are simple and fast. Normally there are two screws you just unscrew.
Here is Lauren Lu Lu, she had to get right in front of the camera with her cute self. She says "cheese"
It has this nasty burlap cover on it with the needlepoint on top. I just cleaned it and covered it with this fabric I found at Hobby Lobby.
In total it was about $28 so not bad for a little chair. We have had a lot going on and I have missed reading some of your blogs the last week. I will be visiting soon..
I have a very special prayer request for dear friends... I will have more later in the week. I'm hoping to get a picture up here soon. It is one of those things that breaks my heart and I have been praying a lot... Please say a prayer for Brayden and his family today I will add more details later, but today is big day. I know God is right there with them as they battle this storm in life. It is hard to understand when kids are involved. I know that As believers experience the attacks of Satan, they can take to heart the truth of Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good to those who love God..." Therefore, the assumption is that we will experience "good" things and "bad" things, but "all" of these things can be made to be "good" as God works them out. So even the attacks of Satan can be considered "good" as God uses them in our lives to conform us to Christ, His Son (see Romans 8:29). Attacks from Satan, along with all other tribulations will cause believers to love God more, resist Satan more, practice patience, resist temptation, and grow stronger in our faith in many other ways.
In Christ,
Katie <><
